The Center

The Center for Educational Documentation was established by Solveig M. Turner in 1976 at Northeastern University following compilation of the 10-volume International Encyclopedia of Higher Education (Jossey-Bass Publishers, 1976). CED became an independent agency in 1986 and is a member of NAFSA: Association of International Education and AACRAO: American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

Recognition

Most applicants are referred to the Center for Educational Documentation by agencies or institutions. When this is not the case, applicants are advised to check with the agency or institution to which they intend to submit the report to make certain that the report will be recognized.

Evaluation Standards

Our evaluation reports are produced in conformity with the standards recommended by the National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Educational Credentials. Each evaluation report is based on educational information currently available. The evaluation statements serve as suggested guidelines and are not binding on any institution or agency which may use them. CED reserves the right to refuse service to any applicant.
